Attending a workshop at the Monolithic Dome Institute is a wonderful experience. For those of you interested in a dome home, and intend to build a dome for yourself, the school is a must.

From the very first moment you get off the the interstate at the Italy, Texas exit and see the starship, you will gather an amazing amount of information and view a number of wonderful sites.

There is so much to learn from the reinforced air form technology, density and R value of the foam to the tensile strength of rebar (not to mention the strength of the concrete).

The people at the institute make you feel right at home. The hands on experience gives you a very good idea of what it takes to do every aspect of building a dome from start to finish. I had the pleasure of attending the institute and upon my return helped in the construction of the Boyt home in Ankeny, Iowa, contracted by Arnold Construction. It has been very rewarding to say the least.
